Learn to ROCK your camera with Clickin Moms (& a GIVEAWAY!!!)

One of the funniest things about being a photographer is the comments people sometimes make when you whip out your camera. "Now THAT's  a camera," one man observantly pointed out when I was at the park with the kids recently. Or, "Let's see who has the biggest toy," said one man at a wedding I was photographing, brandishing his Canon at me with a big grin. As much as some of these comments make me giggle, I do enjoy the chance to talk with other photo enthusiasts, hear how they're using their cameras, and pick their brain for any tips or tricks I might not know about.

That's why I LOVE being a member at Clickin' Moms. Whether I need a little boost of inspiration, or have questions about how to do something specific in my editing software, I can always find someone willing to chat with me and share what they know. I've learned so much in the short time I've been a member.

www.ClickinMoms.com

Go take a peek over at Clickin' Moms and read a few recent blog posts or cruise through the forums. And don't be put off by the name - there are members of all kinds (many who aren't moms, and even a few guys hanging around!). If you like what you see, go ahead and give membership a try (their trial memberships are a great way to try the community out, but you won't regret purchasing an annual or lifetime membership, either - I guarantee you'll get your money's worth).

Here's the best part: I have one lifetime membership to give away!!! That's a $195 value!
*note that this giveaway is only open to new members. If you join during the month of June and win this giveaway, Clickin Moms will refund your membership purchase.*

To enter, simply leave me a comment telling me your number one photography goal.

For extra entries (leave one comment for each item):

  24. My goal is to learn to like my new Canon T3i as much as I liked my Nikon D40 which I never took off auto and it took amazing pictures. I don't love this Canon and it's got to be ME, not the camera and I need to figure out why and how I can fix this so I can love this one too. I've messed with the TV, AV, P - well, all the buttons and well, good thing pictures are digital and I can take 200-300 an hour and not think anything of it. I need help - I need to get off the "auto" because the T3i on auto doesn't work for me and I hate to keep thinking this was a big mistake buying this camera. Thank God for Lightroom but I don't want to depend on it the way I do today.

Many thanks for a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a close knit community of people who truly want to help others.

  25. My #1 goal with photography is to be technically good enough to capture images the way I see them in my head, and use my photography to bless my family and my clients with beautiful images of their precious memories. Also, I would love to turn my passion for photography into a real business. I have dabbled for a long time, but have not yet taken the plunge!

  28. My number one goal is to learn to take photos with my Canon all in manual! I have had the camera for a year and still haven't taken the time to learn it. I'm so afraid that I will be too slow and will miss the shots that I want to take of my boys. So once I learn to shoot in manual, I need to practice, practice, practice! :)

  58. Though I'd like to own a fancier camera someday, that isn't in the cards right now. So, I'd have to say that my #1 Photography Goal is to learn about and make the best use of the little digital camera that I have right now, learning to take photos that will recall great memories to my family for years to come.

  60. I was just looking at clickin moms and really wishing I could afford to join. I just started doing photography after a long "love affair" with it. I invested in a Canon 60D that I might be paying on for the next century (lol).

My number one goal right now is to learn to photograph kids. I don't know enough to get the great shots of the kids. I can do all the others. I am a mom but my son passed away after he was born so I don't have anyone to practice on unless a friend or family member loans me their kids for a couple hours (lol) So with limited practice time and a love for it, I need to be where I can get the best tips to help me learn.
